    Spicy gingerbread granola cookies

From the fancy to the humble, the Christmasy to the Hanukkah-y, this cookie recipe round-up includes some of my favourite cookies.

My goodness, friends, what an intense few days it's been around here! Between posting up here, we celebrated G's birthday with a three-course meal, I organized two events (one large, one small), made many new friends and contacts, and threw my first work party. Oh yeah, and we're flying back to Winnipeg on Sunday, with no Christmas gifts as of yet and no packed suitcases (sorry, friends and family - we're working on it!). But I'm proud to say that at least no one began "hacking and coughing almost immediately, then passing out" at my work events. Hooray to small victories. Oh yeah, and at least I ate some cookies and sufganiyot.

But to celebrate today, the third day of Hanukkah and almost-Christmas, I wanted to give you guys a round-up of my favourite dessert of all times, the thing I am most likely to reach out along with my cup of tea, and the high point at any event involving children - the cookie. With all the beautiful creations popping up all over the blogosphere lately, I thought it would be only appropriate to cap my cookie week with a cookie recipe round-up.

And a shot of all the goodie bags I packed yesterday. There were many.

From the fancy to the humble, the Christmasy to the Hanukkah-y, here are some of my favourite cookies to have appeared on the blogosphere lately:

First off, though I am usually not a fan of floral-scented dishes (I am currently working on some lavender creations that have left me gagging at first, but that I hope to share with you eventually), these rosewater shortbread cookies have my heart beating just a little bit faster. I also happen to trust Heidi completely, so there we go.

I am loving the wholesome, entirely whole-grain vibe of this cocoa buckwheat shortbread by the lovely Megan Gordon. I will get there eventually.

Cookie + Kate's pumpkin pecan Mexican wedding cookies remind me of a (much) fancier version of the gingerbread granola cookies I just posted. I am drooling already, and a batch of these is actually quite likely to happen this weekend (I have pumpkin puree in the fridge to go through before our flight on Sunday).

I make tahini cookies all the time, and I'm loving these tahini-walnut ones from Chez Sasha. Though I have yet to share a recipe for mine, that is coming too in the future!

I'm always looking for more vegan cookie recipes for my collection, and these wafer-thin vegan shortbread hearts from Blueberry Tales look scrumptious.

I can't even.... All the cookies in this 5-treat round-up from BAKED look divine, but these cranberry pistachio thumbprint cookies... Seriously, no words.

And finally, though they are not recent, I am loving these tart-sweet, gluten-free cranberry-chocolate rugelach from The Bojon Gourmet for Hanukkah. Beautiful.

Have a great weekend, everyone. May whatever it is you're celebrating next week be incredible, happy, and filled with light and love.

Much love from me to you! I'm going to leave you with a gratuitous shot of Finningan, my cat, pondering the fate of the world in the laundry room. Cuz that's where he hangs.

No thanks necessary - your cookies look lovely, and I'm a big fan of tahini cookies.

I'd love to see your tahini cookie recipe sometime! I've been eyeing something similar in one of my Mediterranean cookbooks.

Oh thank you so much for the kind shout out! All these cookies look delectable; I'm especially obsessed with those pumpkin polvorones from Cookie + Kate. πŸ™‚
