Gather the Ingredients
1 cup chickpeas, soaked in water for 12 hours 1 whole onion 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup good raw tahini 1 lemon 4 garlic cloves salt + pepper to taste

In a large pot, combine chickpeas and onion with enough water to cover, plus an additional 2 inches.
