Every summer, I tell myself I am going to make all the peach desserts, berry treats, and backyard favorites while the season lasts. And every summer, August shows up faster than expected. One minute, the farmers' markets are overflowing with produce; the next, the best berries are gone and the peaches are on their way out.

These 19 recipes make the most of summer while the ingredients are still at their peak. If there is something you've been meaning to make, this is your sign to stop saving it for later.

This captures that sweet, bright flavor of cherries while they are actually in season. The crumbly, buttery topping is the only real contrast needed against all that juicy fruit.

Grilling the pineapple turns it into the star of the show. It is light, refreshing, and works just as well as a side dish as it does a main summer meal.

This is my trick for hosting without spending the whole time at the grill. It is creamy and fresh, uses no mayo, and is ready long before the barbecue is even warmed up.

Adding basil to peaches is a game-changer that makes this feel like more than just another cobbler. The herbal note cuts the sweetness of the fruit and makes that buttery crust taste even better. It's a classic dessert that actually feels like a summer celebration.

When I am short on time but need a fruit fix, I grab this. With only six ingredients, it is about as low-stress as baking gets, and the lemon and blueberry combo is always a win.

The trick is all in the timing, which gets you those beautiful grill marks without turning the kernels into rubber. It stays plump, juicy, and smoky-honestly, the only way I want to eat corn all season long.

This is the definition of effortless summer food. It's bright, juicy, and relies entirely on having fresh market ingredients, so you don't have to overthink it.

If you think salad can't be a full meal, this will change your mind. The mix of salty feta and sweet watermelon is a total staple, but adding the crunchy cornmeal-fried scallops makes it satisfying in a way that regular salads just aren't.

I finally stopped buying the store-bought versions because this just ruins them for me. The cardamom in the biscuits and the lime-soaked berries create a vibe that feels much more elegant than the standard summer fare. It's a refreshed take on a classic I've loved for years.
