I have a hard-and-fast rule once the temperature hits 90 degrees: if it requires turning on the main oven, it is not happening. There is nothing worse than heating up the house just to make dinner. These 25 recipes are my workaround, relying on the grill, the air fryer, and fresh ingredients to keep the kitchen cooler while still putting a real meal on the table. On the hottest nights of summer, these are the dinners I want to make.

A cheeseburger with lettuce, bacon, melted cheese, and guacamole on a bun sits on a black plate next to a serving of cooked green beans. Another burger and half an avocado are in the background.
